Community/Family Picnic - Friday Sep 11

Tomorrow Chaffey Burke Elementary will have its annual Community/Family Picnic, 12pm to 2:30pm. Children return to the classrooms they occupied this week at 2:30pm for any announcements, picking up school supplies they may have brought/used, and will be informed about Monday. Students are released at 3pm as usual.

Please meet your child/children at noon to have lunch together - blankets are often a good idea as the grass may still be a bit damp from yesterday’s rain.

Tables will be set up for your food item to share after lunch and if you are able to volunteer during this time with arranging tables of food and helping to direct families through buffet style lines, look for Nicole, Elaine or I and we will be able to direct you.

Enjoy the afternoon with your family and see you there!

On behalf of the PAC Executive,

Mary

PAC AGM - June 1 2009

Hello everyone,

Monday night is an important evening. We have the opportunity to thank out-going parents who have served PAC and our school –they leave us as their children now move on to secondary school. It is our annual time to re-commit returning Executive to continued terms and to elect for our vacancies. It is time to celebrate a marvelous school year!

Roles you could consider:

Currently we seek a Member at Large who will work with the school and Ellen Wong on Earthquake. Next year should prove to have minimal work as we are in excellent shape for Earthquake preparedness.

We seek a second DPAC rep to alternate attendance at DPAC meetings- this is only 3/4 meetings during the course of the year and a great opportunity to network with other PACS/Schools and share the coming and goings of district wide PACS to our PAC.

We seek a second member at large- there is flexibility in either School Planning involvement or another program leadership function with this position.

If interested or you require more details please let Elaine or I know.

Our teaching staff are generously offering to provide refreshments this meeting and we welcome you to bring younger children for babysitting provided and a cup/mug to toast our successful school year.

Our meeting is at 7pm, Monday June 01, 2009 at the school library.

See you all next Monday or hopefully at our Walk Athon on Friday.

Warmly,

Mary and Elaine

PAC Meeting Reminder - Monday, Jan 12

As Monday’s meeting is a very important PAC meeting with an opportunity to discuss with teachers the Academic achievement plans at our school and the Fundamental Assessment testing- your Executive felt another PAC meeting reminder to be worthwhile.

We encourage you to invite a fellow parent who may share an interest in these topics and may not usually attend PAC or is not on the distribution list or to simply share the information with other parents.

Note: both babysitting and refreshments are provided.

Please join us and have a voice or the opportunity to hear the ideas. We hope to fill the room.

Have a great weekend!
